About Rosemill

By hand in London

Every item we make is by hand in our London workshop. Every item an individual, crafted by one of our team, investing time and skill into that piece.

We are proud of our approach. If uniformity is your thing, our products are probably not for you. No two pieces are the same.

We think furniture should be well used and well loved, not just looked at. It’s for sitting on, standing on, gathering round, spilling drinks on, and most importantly - flipped on its head and used to make spaceships.

The journey matters

We manufacture in traditional methods that create little or no waste, using sustainable materials like FSC wood and recyclable steel.

We are passionate about sustainability and source locally wherever possible. None of our raw materials are imported by air freight.

All our timber is from Certified FSC Forests, all our steel is fully CE and ISO certified. Our oils and paints meet BS accreditation.

We powder-coat our metal in-house where we can be sure of the quality of the process, reduce waste and oversee ecological disposal.

We will always source British materials first, and in the case of London, source local designers and skilled craftsmen.

Biography - Paul Morrison - Founder

I began working with hand tools in my father's workshop from a young age. He was a maker of traditional British shop-awnings. It was here that I fell in love with working with wood, metal and canvas.

The challenge of working with a natural product material in wood. The endless practicality of working with steel. These things fascinated me in my youth and still do to this day.

My love of manufacturing grew and along with my brother, we went on to build a successful awning manufacturing business, exporting bespoke awnings all over the world.

I learned over the years that here in the UK, we excel at making things. I have never understood why our craftsmen have never been better supported. Why would I make do with something from the other side of the world, when we can design and make something beautiful, here in the UK.

If there is one consistency in our furniture, it is practicality. Our products are made to be used, well used, by everyone, and never over-designed.

I also believe in making use of things close to hand in sustainable and resourceful practices. I hope people get as much enjoyment from our products, as I do from other British produce.
